Posted January 18, 2023. Recently bought an A4 Avant Quattro, perfect service history and well looked after at 73,000 miles. 2 months in with limited miles and I get an AdBlue fault and CEL on dash. Car is now in with Audi needing the AdBlue tank replaced, thankfully the car had a few months left on approved used warranty so is covered.
Anyway .. Topped up diesel Saturday, immediate Amber Engine mgmt light on way home, and eventually an AdBlue Fault message just as I pull into my road: Image attached. Received 1 Like on 1 Post. Filling Main Ad Blue Tank. 2010 Q7 Premium Plus TDI 80K miles. Have done all the maintenance myself since the Audicare ran out after the 45K service. Had planned on adding the DEF (Ad blue) at each 10K service (just like the dealer), but have only been able to put enough DEF to fill the top (active) tank (~1gal).
Adblue was topped up by my dealer for the cost of the Adblue and no more at 7.3 k with 1 to 1.5k miles remaining. 10 litres were added and the indicator returned to 8.5k which is not out of line with a tank capacity of 13 litres. I got this engine management fault code P202A, which means "Reductant Tank Heater Control Circuit / Open". So there is a problem with with the heater for AdB
And then, if you want to save some money on the AdBlue, save an empty 1/2 gallon bottle. Cut the bottom out to use as a funnel to to fill the tank. Get the 2.5 gallon jug of AdBlue, aka Diesel Exhaust Fluid, from an Audi dealer for $13.50; and use it to top off or fill the tank through the modified 1/2 gallon bottle 'funnel'.
Adblue fault – 21-08-2015, 03:57 PM. So my 64 plate A6 ultra has had inspection service and Adlue top up. One day later, Adblue warning message, no restart in 600 miles. Back to the Audi dealer, oh yeah, this is an issue with some of the 1St Ultras, so they change the Adblue sensor, doesn't clear it, I am now without the car for the weekend
